Senior Business Development and Strategy Analyst
The Senior Business Development & Strategy Analyst provides financial and strategic analytical horsepower to Strategy, Business Development, and adjacent commercial functions. The role delivers decision-ready insights and recommendations through financial analysis and modelling, industry and competitive intelligence, and high-quality executive outputs (slides, briefings, and business cases). The analyst also builds and maintains Excel-based analytical tools (models, trackers, scenario engines) to support portfolio, market sizing, and opportunity assessments.
This role partners closely with senior stakeholders, translating ambiguous business questions into structured financial and market analyses, and, critically, into a clear point of view on what the business should do next. Outputs must be accurate, well-documented, and delivered on time.
Key Responsibilities
LANGUAGE SKILLS
- Fluency in English (both written and verbal).
- Additional languages are a plus, depending on the region. (Portuguese, Spanish, French)
- 5+ years in analytics roles supporting Strategy / BD / Commercial / Finance (e.g., strategy analyst, BD analyst, corporate development, FP&A, market intelligence, consulting).
- Demonstrated experience building financial models and synthesizing market/competitive insight into a recommendation. Candidates should be able to describe a specific instance where their analysis changed a business decision, not only supported one already made.
- A genuine self-starter / entrepreneurial track record: examples of identifying a gap or opportunity and acting on it without being directed to, not just executing well-defined tasks.
- Experience working cross-functionally and managing multiple stakeholders; comfortable with ambiguity. Prior experience supporting a multi-region or multinational organization is a strong plus.
- Advanced Excel (financial modelling best practices, Power Query; VBA optional). This is the core technical requirement of the role.
- Strong PowerPoint (executive narrative, clean visuals, recommendation-first structure).
- Power BI/Tableau/SQL a plus, not required. This is a financial and strategic analysis role, not a reporting or dashboard-development role.
- Strong data hygiene: reproducible methods, source tracking, and documentation.
- Customer-focused; takes personal responsibility for speed, quality and accuracy of delivery.
- Ability to work under pressure in a challenging and fast-moving environment.
- Excellent oral and written communication; able to influence decisions through data and logic.
- Strong interpersonal skills; proactive, highly motivated self-starter; good judgment and discretion. Genuinely comfortable operating independently with minimal day-to-day supervision.
