Finance Operations Analyst (AP/AR)
Position Summary:
This role supports Axis Education Group and is employed through our partner, Genfinity.
The Finance Operations Analyst (AP/AR) will report to the Group Finance Manager and is a key contributor to the day-to-day finance operations across Axis Education Group, initially supporting the Indigo cluster of entities (Independent College, Public Affairs Ireland, and International House Dublin). This role is responsible for accounts payable and receivable activities, bank reconciliations, ledger management, and period-end accounting support while ensuring accurate financial transactions and strong internal controls. Working closely with Finance and operational stakeholders, the position supports cash management, financial reporting, process improvement, and the standardization of AP/AR processes across the Group as the centralized finance function continues to evolve.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Accounts Payable & Accounts Receivable Management
- Manage end-to-end accounts payable across the Indigo entities, including invoice receipt, coding, approval workflows, payment runs, and supplier reconciliations.
- Manage customer invoicing, credit control, cash allocation, and debtor reporting; partner with operational teams to resolve customer and supplier queries promptly.
- Maintain clean and well-reconciled supplier and customer ledgers through regular supplier statement reconciliations and customer aging reviews.
- Bank Reconciliations & Cash Management
- Perform daily and monthly bank reconciliations across multiple entities and bank accounts, investigating and resolving reconciling items in a timely manner.
- Support payment run preparation, SEPA file generation, and cash flow reporting in conjunction with the Group Finance Manager.
- Period-End Accounting Support
- Support the Lead Accountant with month-end journals, accruals, and prepayments related to AP/AR activities.
- Assist in ensuring the timely and accurate completion of period-end accounting requirements and supporting schedules.
- Process Improvement & Group Standardization
- Use and help optimize the Group’s finance tooling stack, including Xero, Hubdoc, Yooz, and Agicap, to drive automation and reduce manual processing.
- Help define and roll out consistent AP/AR processes, controls, and documentation across all Group entities to support operational efficiency and standardization.
- Group Finance Support & Expansion
- Support the continued development of the centralized AP/AR function as the Group expands and matures.
- Expand AP/AR coverage from the Indigo cluster to additional Group entities, working closely with the Finance team to support future growth initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) passer, with strong foundational knowledge in accounting principles and financial reporting standards
- At least 3 years of experience in Accounting and Finance with exposure to AP/AR, Accounts Assistant, or transactional finance roles
- Experience with cloud-based accounting and ERP automation tools is required, preferably Xero, Hubdoc, Dext, Yooz, or Agicap
- Good working knowledge of journal entries, accruals, reclassifications, and account reconciliations
- Strong experience in end-to-end AP/AR and general ledger accounting across multi-entity and multi-currency environments.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and Google Suite
- Proficiency in digital tools and platforms, with the ability to quickly learn and adapt to new systems and technologies
- Effective written and verbal communication skills for collaboration with Finance and cross-functional teams
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail
- Excellent organizational and time-management abilities, with the capacity to manage recurring monthly and close deadlines
- Ability to handle confidential and sensitive financial information with professionalism and discretion
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a growing team environment
- Willing to work during Ireland Time Zone Business Hours
- Willing to work Fully Remotely
